I could easily wax verbose on the easy-to-find location, great selection and other positive et ceteras one normally looks for in a local business, but I feel no need. NCRP's primary shining badge of honor is its customer service, particularly from owner Barry Osser. Barry is not only extremely knowledgable and helpful, he is adept at establishing a rapport and working relationship with the customers, establishing an unbeatable feeling of familiarity and friendliness. Truly, NCRP is the "Cheers" for nerds.

I've never been to another gaming store, but I can't imagine what else one could want in a roleplaying store. It's got comics to, but I don't read comics, so I can't vouch for their selection or anything (though I did find the American Splendor comic collections there, great stuff, should be more well known). But as for RPGs, they've got most of the big ones, and quite a few of the smaller games, as well as plenty of sourcebooks for each one. They've got most of the bigger gaming magazines as well. They also carry an extensive collection of the Warhammer stuff, and other tabletop wargames. Great dice selection, as well as a massive amount of board games of all types. They've got a small selection of RPG based fiction, I guess that could be better. Barry, the owner, and the man behind the counter, is extremely knowledgeable about his entire catalog of merchandise, and it's because he's passionate about gaming, comics, and games, not just because he happens to sell them. He's always willing to help, and has an answer for just about any question you can throw at him. The selection's great, and if he doesn't have something, Barry will almost always order it for you. In the last few times I went there, I arrived 15 minutes after closing time, but since Barry was still in the store, he let me come in because I knew what I was looking for. When I didn't find it and was leaving, Barry asked me what it was that I couldn't find. I told him what two things, and he immediately went and looked himself to make sure he didn't have the first one I'd asked for. He said he should have it. When he found he didn't, he told me to come in next Thursday (this was a Saturday), and it would be on the shelf. I didn't even have to ask him to order it, he did it himself. He said he didn't know when the second book was even going to be released. The next time I go in, the Friday after I couldn't find anything, I immediately saw the first book on the shelf, grabbed it, and promptly bought it. Then Barry, without me having to ask, told me he had found out when the 2nd book was going to be released, and informed me of the date. Great selection, helpful and knowledgeable, and the same price I'd pay at Borders for their meger selection, lack of knowledge, and limited ordering capacity for RPGs. Not to mention its a local business!

For gaming and comics this is the best store around. (Albeit the only one) The owner is very knowledgeable of everything in the store and is always ready for pretty much any question you can throw at him. The store is easily found, well organized and has always had what I needed or at least been able to order it for me. I've never heard anything different from anyone in my gaming/comics loving circle or friends.
