The Last Grenadier... I've been going to these guys for obscure gaming needs for over 20 years. I remember their store on San Fernando Rd. I like the Hollywood Way store better. Whether its games or Osprey Books I'm after they've got it. The proprietor comes off as cool and aloof, but if you've got a question, just ask him. He be happy to answer you and assist you in anyway he can, including sending you to somebody else if he can't fill your needs. Love this store. Open 7 days a week, til 9 on fridays. If Ollivander's sold miniatures instead of wands it would look like this. Take a claritin and go dig, you never know what you'll find.

This place is a wreck. The staff is nice but the game space...and aisles...are all buried under boxes and some of the shelves are completely blocked. It's almost impossible to move through the store without knocking something over or pressing too close to someone to get past. The overall appearance is that of your Uncle Ernie's hoarder basement. The typical gamer stereo-types are, sadly, very much encouraged here. And the prices are still full retail.

12/23/11: Large selection of war games, miniatures and popular board games. They also have a good selection of used out-of-print war games (i.e., Attack Sub). There were 2 tables in a cramped area with miniature games underway when I visited. I interacted with 3 staff members who were friendly and helpful.

Looks like a typical used book store, which it is also in addition to being the place to go for military/roleplaying games. That is the non-computer,video,Xbox, PS3 types for the hi-tech players. Rather these are the traditional board game variety. Regardless of that it's a great place to go for those who are into the above type of games.

This store is packed, really packed, stuff stacked up to the ceiling packed with game stuff. Not for the faint of heart, but they have a good selection at full retail prices. They do have a tiny sale area, but they really could do with a major clearance and a clean out.
